Waterproof Flooring Options
If you’re in the market for new flooring, and need something that is incredibly durable and can be installed in every room in your home, then luxury vinyl may be the option for you. There is very few truly waterproof flooring options available to homeowners, but the options do exist. At Parker’s Carpet One Floor & Home in Spartanburg, SC, we take pride is being able to offer our customers flooring that suits both their needs and their home’s needs.
What Makes a Floor Waterproof?
When it comes to waterproof flooring options you can choose from products like luxury vinyl or wood polymer composite flooring which is better known as WPC. Luxury vinyl and WCP gets their water proof qualities from their core composition. The core is made from materials that do not absorb moisture. Now just because the flooring itself is waterproof, that does not mean your subfloor is.
Resilient Flooring Options
There is a major difference between floors that call themselves waterproof, and floors that call themselves water resistant. As said before, water proof flooring is made to not absorb water at all. Water resistant flooring however, means that the floor can withstand water longer than other flooring options. The surface of the flooring may be the water resistant component, but if the core becomes exposed to water then it can be absorbed and damage both the flooring and sub floor.
You can install waterproof and water resistant flooring in every room of your home. That means you can install luxury vinyl and WPC in rooms like your basement, mudroom, kitchen and even bathroom.
